Normally on Fridays, I would post my fabulous fashion finds for the week. Believe it or not, I did not purchase any clothing, shoes, or purses this week, well at least as of tonight I haven’t. This week, I did receive quite a few beauty items that are blog worthy and worth sharing. I’m into all things fabulous which includes perfume, bath & body products, and cosmetics. I buy just as much of these items as I do clothing and accessories. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough time in the day to blog about the boxes of unused beauty products that I have. I have a bad habit of buying products and leaving them sitting on the shelf until they start screaming “use me”. I’m really working on breaking my habit of letting stuff sit around and collect dust!
Here’s what I got this week:
I received my Summer Vox Box from Influenster. Influenster basically sends products out to a select group of trendsetters to try out and provide feedback on. I received my second box this week which included Hawaiian Tropic Lotion Sunscreen, Tampax & Always Radiant Collection, Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color, Sally Hansen Nail & Cuticle Hand Cream, Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy, and Quaker Soft Baked Banana Nut Bread. The Banana Nut Bread is awesome and earned a spot on my grocery store list. I also appreciated the cute little storage pouch Tampax/Always included in the box.
My July Pillow Box arrived from My Shade of Brown. I really like this monthly sample website because their products are geared specifically for African American women. I believe all women would enjoy their products; I mean who doesn’t enjoy scented sugar scrubs and smelling sweet? I received Pooka Pure and Simple Pomegranate Kiwi Sugar Polish, Butterfly Beaute Lemon Sugar Moisturizing along with the Juicy Mist leave in hair conditioner, and Mash Nails nail art pen. All of the products I received smells good enough to eat and worth ordering the larger size. Not to mention, their products are natural and organic which works well with my sensitive skin.
Birchbox is amazing and I absolutely love the products they send me. Last month they sent me designer Cynthia Rowley band-aids and this month they continued to wow me with their Glamour magazine box which included, Color Club Blue Ming Polish, Eyeko London Liquid Eyeliner, Harvey Prince Eau Flirt Perfume, Supergoop City Sunscreen Serum, Tea Forte Miniteas, and a some super cute ear buds. I got a chance to sample the Harvey Prince Flirt perfume and it’s definitely worth adding to my collection.
Hautelook had a special sale earlier this week on Nailuv products I was able to purchase a few gel nail colors along with the UV nail lamp for about $30.00 which is an excellent deal as the lamp alone retails for $50.00. I’m curious to see how this works out for me because I can’t polish a nail to save my life. I think it’s a combination of me being impatient and not having the time to meticulously polish my nails and wait for them dry. I spend my lunch hour almost every Thursday with Julie, my nail tech. In the picture I’m wearing Blue Ming from Color Club courtesy of Birchbox.
I’m smitten with the monthly beauty subscription boxes that are available. Whoever originated this idea is a marketing genius; most of these products I would have never heard of or used without receiving my monthly boxes. It is hard to chose which products to use, Have you ever been in Ulta or Sephora? It’s so much to choose from until you have no idea what to try or buy. This new wave of beauty sample websites help takes the guesswork out of it.
Have a Beauty Full Weekend!!!!!!!
